  ELLEN'S BLOG
 Take me to the Unconscious

I want to share my thoughts, my musings, and some of my clients’ stories with you here so you have some insight into how inspiring this work is.

Hypnotherapy, or hypnosis as it’s also referred to, has an endless bank of amazing and transformative personal stories. In many of these stories, we resolve a specific problem that you may mistake as having a trivial impact on a person’s life.

What really happens though is that eachchange results in a domino effect on a person’s life, relationships, and happiness.

In each of these stories, my clients dared to take that first step to contact me because they knew they could expect more from their life.

Addiction Begins with Trauma

hypnotherapy for anger

To be truly free from a powerful addiction to alcohol and drugs, a person must overcome the trauma that first created their struggle with life’s demands.

Gabor Mate, the famous psychiatrist writes, “Don’t ask why the addiction, ask why the pain.” In fact, a human is at the greatest risk of life-long trauma during the first ten years of life.

Rick couldn’t escape it. Like many other addicts, he was abused, mostly emotionally, starting at the tender age of 4.

By bad parents, you might ask? Not at all. Rick knew that. His dad wasn’t bad. He was himself a child of trauma. Looking back, he had his demons too and without an awareness of his own destructive messages, he poured his own self-contempt into little Rick’s lap. Just like his own father did to him.

Mental abuse is not like being criticised for doing badly in a math test. It’s more of a judgment of who you are at your very core. It’s a permanent stain on your sense of self.

Rick never grew out of it. Every attempt to regain self-esteem was a losing battle with the monster inside. He struggled with anxiety, panic attacks, fear of failure, difficulty concentrating and remembering at school, lack of emotional control and fear of his own punishing emotions.

After a few interventions in rehab in this 40’s, Rick’s turned to hypnotherapy, His journey began with releasing the trauma of his childhood and regaining his self-belief. Only then could he find the strength to change his beliefs and his dysfunctional coping patterns. The program then focused on every part of his addiction, built new self-beliefs, neutralized the triggers, solidified powerful inner states and rebuilt his personal integrity. He could let go of his shame for good.

Freedom from Addiction is a hypnotherapy program that is offered in the most forward-thinking rehab clinics in the US. It has one objective: to permanently end addiction by building inner-strength and self-control in a healthy mind and body.

Ellen is trained in the program and conducts the sessions in Hong Kong. It involves 3 sessions of 60-90 minutes each per week for 4 weeks with the possibility of further sessions, if needed. No need to travel. No need to stop work. Every client who wants permanent transformative change will achieve it during their journey.
